CHAT: His Version of the Story
by Lustcake
Three months ago, I was supposed to see someone that i only knew through a small box. a chat mate i could say. we’ve been chatting for almost half a year before she said yes to my persistent request that we should meet up and talk in person, that way i could know her much more and way better.
I was so excited when the day that we’ll meet finally arrived. crazy thing is that i didn’t even know her real name, the only thing that connects us is the chat box.
I arrived at the place that we’ve agreed upon at the exact time, i actually wanted to be there 30 minutes earlier but then i got caught in a traffic jam along EDSA. when i entered the resto the waiter asked me if I’m alone or if I’m with someone or if someone is waiting for me. i just smiled and asked him if there is someone there with the name
“LustCake”, I know that her chat name sounds naughty, and I like it that way.
He smiled back at me and pointed me to the direction at the right far end corner of the resto.
“She’s the gorgeous lady in the black velvet dress Sir.” I thanked the waiter and walked towards her.
I said Hi, and tell you what, she’s actually gorgeous and sexy, she looks smart and crazily stunning. Hi was all that I could say, I was even kinda startled when she opted me to take a seat.
I said sorry for being late, she told me that she was just earlier, and that she’s sorry because she had to leave even before we could have anything to eat because she needs to go to work, its her off but she’s the on call.
I didn’t even understand what that means, but at that very moment I felt like I was shattered into pieces, “coz I know that I wanna be with her, not just for that day but for all of the coming days in my life. To cut it short, she left 15 minutes after our small talk, so foolish of me that I didn’t offer her a ride to work, crazy, I didn’t even walked her out. I was so stunned by her that I couldn’t even move. I just watched her exchanged glances and smiles with the waiter who opened the door for me earlier, I even saw them exchanged calling cards!
Five minutes later, I’m back to my feet I asked the waiter details about her, and I almost twisted his neck because he told me that he’s not willing to share anything that he knows about “LustCake”. I even shouted and called him names, “Baliw ka ba!?Waiter ka lang dito!Sa tingin mo bagay kayong dalawa para umarte ka ng ganyan!Para hindi mo ibigay sa’kin ang calling card niya?!” I have to admit that I’ve lost it,because I’m desperate and deep inside me I know that I love her, even without knowing.
The waiter is still relaxed, he’s even smiling as if to annoy me and said, “Sir,please don’t make a scene, and tell you what, I’m the restaurant’s owner. If only you arrived earlier you would’ve the info that I’m holding in me now. But the bad news is you came on time. Sorry. So if you would leave peacefully no one would get humiliated.”
At that moment, I felt more anger but I’ve decided to leave, anyway I know that we would chat later that day, and plan for another meeting where in i would arrive an hour earlier before the agreed upon time.
Right at the moment that I arrived in my unit I brought the laptop to life, signed in the chat room and waited for her to sign in, I expect that it might take hours because she’s at work, my status message reads: “WAITING FOR “LUSTCAKE”,OTHER PEOPLE:DON’T PM, DON’T BUZZ,DON’T DISTURB”
it’s past midnight, no PM yet.
the alarm went ding ding ding ding!!!!
its 6am, and still no signs of her,
i need to go to work,
i signed out from the computer
and signed in my mobile,
hoping that she would send me a message,
even just a “Hi ”
Days passed.
Weeks
Three months passed.
Today, I received a call from the chat room administrator whom I know as Badz.
“Hey man! I heard that Cassie’s getting married! And she’s inviting everyone from the chat room to a grand eye ball slash pre-wedding party!”
Wait.wait.Man, who’s Cassie?
“The girl you chat a lot with, your girl! Cassie Sevrino A.K.A “LustCake”!
You know her real name?
“Yeah! I’m the admin remember? We’re connected through Facebook.”
Why didn’t you tell me all this stuffs before?
“You never asked!I even thought that you knew because you two went out once right?”
Oh shit.
“Why?What’s wrong man?”
I like her, I think I even love her, but that day when I met her she’s in a hurry we never had the chance to exchange details. I waited for her in the chat room but she never came.
“Man, she’s signed in everyday, that day when you two met she said to me that she’s very happy because she met an incredibly great guy, even thought that she’s talking about you, and that you guys are going out together. Until when she told me that she’s marrying the restaurateur that she met the same day that she met you. And that she’s very thankful of our chat room because she met the love of her life through us,through you.If you weren’t on time she won’t meet him, if you came earlier maybe, just maybe, she’s in love with you now. And I’m sorry to say that she’s not.”
Man that was heavy, that hurts a lot.
Yeah, you’ve read it right folks. She got married two weeks later, I’ve witnessed it, she’s happy, she even thanked me for coming on time that day, she even gave me a peck on the lips, a kiss that sent me to a dream about what might have been if it was me and her. I still wanted to twist her guy’s neck, I even want to twist my neck for coming exactly on time that day.I even want to twist EDSA for having such a bad traffic that day.
“I came at the right time,
the exact time,
I felt the right love at the right time.
But yours, the love that you felt was at a different time for a different person,
a time earlier than of mine, a person that was not me. As Barry Mannilow says in his song,
Somewhere down the road I know our roads are gonna cross again, it doesn’t really matter when.
Somewhere down the road I know that heart of yours will come to see that you belong with me.
Sometimes good byes are not forever it doesn’t matter if your gone I still believe in us together.
I understand more than you think I can,
you have to go out on your own so you can find your way back home.
Letting go is just another way to say I’ll always love you so.”
